Barossa Art Prize - Vanishing point

I’m super excited to be a finalist in this year’s Barossa Art Prize! Come and see the show at the Barossa Regional Gallery during the Vintage Festival and make a day of it!

Warburton River Inlet, Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre SA

Australia’s ephemeral rivers transform the land in endless cycles of extinction and renewal.

During drought, water and the life it supports, vanish from the landscape. In flood it is the land that vanishes metamorphosing, mysteriously, into a thriving, if transitory, wetland.

In ‘Warburton Inlet’ replete with silt, waters gleam like polished metal. Queensland rains replenish ancient Kati Thanda revealing a moment of becoming; river to lake, fresh to salt, desert to wetland. Before the birds arrive, a moment of suspension and possibility stretches to the horizon.
