I invite you to participate in a new project exploring fabrics and the way family memories and culture are held within their weft and warp. It will be a inclusive celebration of the private creativity of our socially and culturally diverse community.

Do you have a fabric that has special meaning to you? Maybe it has been passed down in your family. Perhaps you learnt to sew, knit, weave, macrame, embroider, with your mother or grandmother. Or it may have a history of manufacture in your culture like silk, brocade or linen.

During SALA I would like to record the special memories of your fabric and photograph a still life based around your fabric during one on one development sessions.

Sessions will be held week days from July 10th to SEPTEMBER 15TH 10am, 12am and 2am.

The photographs will be printed and displayed as part of an ongoing SALA installation. Later the stories and photographs will be combined in an Adelaide Fringe Exhibition in 2024.
